I love the intricacy of detail in the Bible. Of course, David cared for all the sheep in his flock, but in 1 Sam. 17:34, it says that David used to fight a lion or a bear when they tried to take a lamb from the flock. A lamb! He would risk his life for a single lamb. It so parallels Jesus when he talked about the 99 sheep and the 1 lost lamb. He went out an found it as well. How wonderful that Jesus cares so much about the singular, the 1 individual. I praise God that He sought me and rescued me placing me in His flock.
