Decently and in Order

1 Cor. 14:26
What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.

Whatever the spiritual gift, there are certain guidelines for its use. First, it must be used for building up the body of Christ. Since this is an overarching principle of the body of Christ, growth is essential! Secondly, For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all my learn and all be encouraged...Growth, learning,  and encouragement! Certainly these three items would prepare the believers to function during the week when they are not necessarily with other believers or when persecution is what consumes their lives. Thirdly, women should keep silent in the church. Since their life is to be characterized by submission, it extends even into the local body as well. If there is a question, they are to ask their husbands at home. [Definitely puts an added responsibility on the man to listen and understand the teaching.] The overall motive for all of these instructions is that God is not a God of confusion but of peace.  All things should be done decently and in order.

Father,
Grow me today. Encourage my heart to ever be in submission to Your words.
In Jesus name,
Amen
