2 Pet. 3:9
The Lord is not slow to fulfill His promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
It's so ironic that the very reason the scoffers say the Lord will never come is the very reason that they are still alive. There are many people who say that the promise of His coming is foolishness. It has never happened yet and will probably never happen. Yet, these foolish people are overlooking what happened in the time of the flood. By the very word of God the earth was created out of water and that very same water was the element of destruction for the earth. By this very same word the earth is even now stored up for a fiery judgment and destruction of the ungodly. Man needs to remember that God's timing is not human timing. One day with the Lord is like a thousand years. He is not slow to fulfill His promise, but it is His divine patience leaving the door open for more to be saved. He wants all to come to repentance.
Father,
Thank you for Your great patience and desire for all to be saved. Send Your Holy Spirit to draw hearts to You.
In His name,
Amen
