God's Temple

I Cor. 3:16-17
Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple.

If God's Spirit dwells within me, and He does, then He is all the wisdom and insight that I need. Worldly wisdom is foolishness with God because the thoughts and insights of the wise are futile. Without God in the thinking, any so-called wisdom is skewed. In fact, God uses the wisdom of the world to catch them in their craftiness. In their hopes of becoming smarter than God, that is if they even acknowledge a God, they fall into the snare of folly and futility. But for the believer, his wisdom is from God, from His Spirit dwelling and living within. How would this temple be destroyed? Definitely by the wisdom of the world or by claiming pride in intellect or achievement, but also by trying to infiltrate the ways of God with the ways of the world. This was the problem in the Corinthian church. They were claiming man's allegiance and prominence, but God only wants to be the recipient of all boasting. Let Him who boasts, boast in the Lord.

Father,
Thank You for the indwelling Spirit and for the gift of the only wisdom that matters for eternity. Show me how to cherish and grow in Your temple.
In Jesus name,
Amen
