New Jerusalem

Is. 65:17-18
For behold, I create a new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem to be a joy and her people to be a gladness.

The new heavens and the new earth will be glorious!
  • The former things shall not be remembered. The pain and sorrow that characterizes life as we know it will all be gone, totally forgotten.
  • Jerusalem was created to be a joy, and her people a gladness.-After all the warring and destruction, Jerusalem will finally be delivered from all the dissension into the joy of the Lord.
  • God will rejoice and be glad in His people. No more sin, sin nature, and evil. God will see a people who are wholly His.
  • No more will be heard the sound of weeping and the cry of distress. The sorrow of this life[disease, death, torture, occupation, war] will be over. All will be at peace.
  • Life will be extended. No infant mortality and the young and the sinner will live to be 100.
  • What they build will be theirs. Houses, vineyards, fruit will be planted, built, and enjoyed by the planter or the builder.
  • The days of the tree shall be the days of God's people. Life will be long-lasting and durable.
  • No laboring in vain or bearing children for calamity. They are now the offspring of the Lord.
  • Before they call, He will answer. God ears are open to bless His people because their hearts are His.
  • The wolf and lamb will graze together and the lion shall eat straw. No more predator, prey, or carnivores.
  • Dust shall be the serpent's food. No more deception.
  • There will not be any hurt or destruction in God's Holy mountain.
As good as this sounds, heaven will be better! In it there will be no death or sin. When does this occur? Even though this is far beyond what the world has ever seen, could it be Israel during the millennium?

Father,
Thank You for giving me the seed of imperishability and eternality. Thank You for giving me a future with You praising You unendingly.
All through and in the name of Jesus,
Amen
