Do You Not Know

I Cor. 1:11
And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

How foolish! Paul rebuked them as he questioned them. Why would they go to an unrighteous court to settle differences between believers? When they are with Jesus face to face, the saints will judge the world. So are they incompetent to try these trivial matters here? This action is shameful on the part of believers. He went on to say it is already a defeat that they want to have a lawsuit at all. Where is the unity? Where is the considering others more important than self? Where is suffering to follow in the steps of Christ?

Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. Strong Words! How relevant! Now here is another area that is dragging the Corinthians down. They were falling back into more sinful patterns, and they needed to realize that God does not condone these behaviors at all! Instead all these areas should be in the believer's past. Their present and their future should be washed, sanctified, and justified totally in the name of Jesus. How true for believers today! Our culture advocates all of these behaviors. In fact, homosexuality is even becoming a legalized union. What a stench for the nostrils of God!

Father,
Keep my conscience and my heart tender to Your leading and convicting. Help me stay clear of sinful patterns from my fleshly life.
In Jesus name,
Amen
