Eternal Priest

Heb. 28
For the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who had been made made perfect forever.

There is a huge difference in the priesthood of Jesus Christ as compared to the Levitical priesthood. The ramifications are many.
  • Imperfect  priests --- a Perfect priest
  • Levitical tribe--- a tribe of Judah, a tribe from which no one has served before
  • The former commandment is set aside because of it uselessness --- to open the way for a better hope through which we draw near to God
  • Without an oath --- God giving an oath establishing His priesthood forever making Jesus a guarantor of a better priesthood
  • Offer daily sacrifices for their own sins and then sins of others ---to offer once for all sacrifice for the sins of many
  • priests unholy --- Christ, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens
  • Law appoints men in their weakness as high priests --- Jesus appointed as a Son who has been made perfect forever.
Praise God I have Jesus who is the eternal priest providing for me. Jesus in the life brings radical change.

Father,
Help me live in such a way that bring glory to Christ who is my eternal priest. Teach me to live in His power and grace.
In Jesus name,
Amen
