David's Song

I Chron. 16:28-29
Ascribe to the Lord, O Clans of the peoples,
Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength!
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name;
Bring and offering and come before Him!
Worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness,
Tremble before the Him, all the earth!

What great praise!
  • Give thanks
  • Call upon His name and make known His deeds.
  • Sing praise to Him that tell of His wondrous works.
  • Glory in His name!
  • Rejoice in the Lord.
  • Seek the Lord, His strength, His presence continually!
  • Tell of His salvation every day.
  • Declare His glory among the nations
  • The Lord is great above all gods.
  • He is the creator and splendor and majesty are before Him.
  • Bring an offering before Him.
  • Be glad and rejoice.
  • The Lord reigns.
  • His attributes are:
    • He is the Lord our God.
    • His judgments are everywhere.
    • His covenant to Israel is everlasting.
    • Protected His people and His prophets.
    • Splendor and majesty are before Him.
    • Glory and strength are His.
    • He reigns.
    • He is good.
    • His steadfast love endures forever.
Always when praise is given, His attributes will accompany that praise. I can't really praise Him for what He has done without telling who He is. It is always amazing to me that praising God spans the years and is just as relevant today as it was in David's time. God is timeless as is His praise! I want to worship Him in the splendor of holiness. Thankfully, I stand in the holiness of Jesus and am covered in His righteous blood. Without Him and His sacrifice, I couldn't worship at all.

Father,
Teach me to worship You in a way that brings glory to Your name. Teach me what the splendor of holiness is.
In Jesus name,
Amen
