Fear God

Ecc. 12:13-14
"The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment with every secret thing, whether good or evil."

Solomon sought to know all wisdom. He had riches, possessions, power, knowledge, education, but still he found it was not fulfilling. His conclusion for all of life was to fear God and keep His commandments. He found that man's purpose and delight would be in His relationship with God. Nothing else would give him that inmost thing that he so desired. All else would be vanity and a chasing after wind. Not only that, but in the end, God would bring every deed into judgment. If a life was focused on foolishness, riches, power, or anything other than God, it would be revealed for what it truly was. There would be no secrets with God. All would be naked and exposed before the One to whom they must give account.

Father,
Keep my focus only and always on You. Teach me what it means to fear You wholly and truly.
In Jesus name,
Amen
