Vanity and Striving after Wind

Ecc. 3:1
"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven."

There is a time for everything, but that time is not in man's devising. Time is the vehicle for God's purpose and plan.  But when man organizes and allots time, it becomes nothing but vanity and striving after wind because of his motives. Instead of thinking of the good for all mankind, he is thinking about his own personal gain.  So what should man do? Fear God and bring glory to His name. He is the One who gives meaning to the seasons, to all matters, to birth and death, to planting and harvesting, to construction and demolition, to weeping and laughter, to embracing and the lack of embracing, to seeking and losing, to tearing and sewing, to keeping silent and speaking, to loving and hating, and for war and peace. The choice is simple: God and meaning or the world and vanity.

Father,
Keep my eyes focused on You so that I may be united to You and Your purposes.
In Jesus name,
Amen
