The Word of the Lord

I Kings 16:1

"And the word of the Lord came to Jehu the son of Hanai against Baasha, saying..."

Jehu told Baasha he would be utterly swept away, he and his house. Later, after his death, his son Elah began to reign. One night as he drank himself drunk, Zimri came and struck him down. In fact, he stuck down all the house of Baasha, not one single man was living. It was all done as the word of the Lord had said. What God said did indeed come to pass. What God says will always come to pass! This is why it is so important to know the Word of God. It should be our guide for living, our source of grace and strength, and our communication with God Himself.

Keep me close to Your word. Help me to stay true to Your words and let them be my light and guide.
