To and Fro

II Chron. 16:9
"For the eyes of the Lord run to and from throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward Him."

God's desires to support those who love and follow Him, but who can be blameless? In the matter of the OT kings, they didn't destroy the high places. It was in those places that idolatry was practiced. What an affront to a holy God! He had said He would be with them, protecting them, and giving them victories if they wholly followed Him, yet they could not. The detestable idols and evil practices associated with the worship of these idols controlled the kings and the people. I am wondering if there are high places today. Certainly, we don't have Asherim, but we have materialism, possessions, ambition, and so many other things that control our life style. Have we compromised our hearts to hold on to the world while trying to hold onto God?

Father,
Convict me when my heart is not wholly yours. Teach me how to follow You completely and have my heart united to Yours.
In Jesus name,
Amen
