The Holy City

Rev. 21:22-27

What a beautiful description! There is no temple in the Holy City because the temple is the Lord God Almighty. In fact, there is no need of sun or moon because the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is the lamp. It boggles my mind to think about the intensity and the scope of God's glory! God's light allows the nations and the kings to walk in bringing glory to Him becausee every knee has bowed. All is as it should be. The gates of this city are never shut, and there is no night. Evil is abolished! Nothing unclean or detestable will ever enter this city, but only those written in the Lamb's Book of Life.

This picture gives such hope for what is to come. It makes me "groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved." It is the huge heavenly carrot, the goal for the prize for the upward call of God in Christ Jesus, and the better country, the heavenly one of which I am a citizen. Wow! Praise God!

Father,
Keep my eyes ever fixed on You and focused on the redemption of my body and spending eternity praising Your name.
In Jesus name,
Amen
